At the peak of summer, lavender is collected from the family's small plots, which are planted in helter-skelter fashion throughout the region. As befits a traditional family business, no machines are used in the harveting of the lavender. A razor-sharp hand scythe and a straw hat for protection from the August sun, combined with a love of hard work outdoors, are all that are required.
